Join the Soul Fire Farm site team to buck and split the season's firewood. You will work closely with Kai and Jonah to turn our downed trees into a fuel source.
All experience levels are welcome, however, only those who meet the requirements below will be allowed to operate the equipment. Everyone will support with moving and stacking wood.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least a year of regular chainsaw use OR wood splitter use
- For chainsaw users - knowledge of safe usage and basic maintenance: safe starting practice; chain tensioning and sharpening; correct use of throttle lock; correct thumb position and avoidance of kickback point while sawing
- For chainsaw users - Possession* of chainsaw and protective gear (calf-wrap chaps, eye, ear and head protection, and a commitment to use all of the above safety gear while operating chainsaw on Soul Fire property.
*Please bring your own chainsaw and safety gear. If you are missing an item, let us know and we can probably lend it to you.
A simple lunch will be provided.
