THIS EVENT IS FOR EXPERIENCED FOLKS ONLY

Do you have at least one year of chainsaw experience? Do you have at least one year's experience using a wood splitter? If so, read on. If not, please attend one of our regular community work & learn days.

Join the Soul Fire Farm site team to buck and split the season's firewood. You will work closely with Kai and Jonah to turn our downed trees into a fuel source.

REQUIREMENTS

    • At least a year of regular chainsaw use OR wood splitter use
    • For chainsaw users - knowledge of safe usage and basic maintenance: safe starting practice; chain tensioning and sharpening; correct use of throttle lock; correct thumb position and avoidance of kickback point while sawing
    • For chainsaw users - Possession* of chainsaw and protective gear (calf-wrap chaps, eye, ear and head protection, and a commitment to use all of the above safety gear while operating chainsaw on Soul Fire property.

*Please bring your own chainsaw and safety gear. If you are missing an item, let us know and we can probably lend it to you.

A simple lunch will be provided.
